Surveillance Video and the Life of a Long Term Disability Applicant

Uncategorized

If you are applying for or receiving your Long Term Disability benefits, you should assume that you are being watched and video-taped by the Long Term Disability insurance company. Video surveillance is being done in an effort to catch you doing activities that could be used against you.

The Long Term Disability carrier is going to ask you to complete Activity of Daily Living forms. Florida based Long Term Disability attorney Nancy Cavey has written the go to free book for Long Term Disability applicants and recipients about how to fill out Activity of Daily Living forms.

You should be discussing with your doctor what you are physically able to do. It is not my job as a Long Term Disability attorney to tell you what you should or should not do. That’s a medical issue.

However, disability claimants are like any other person. We all have responsibilities in our daily lives such as grocery shopping, taking children to school, going to doctor’s appointments and running errands.

Many times Long Term Disability applicants will do those activities for a short period of time and space those activities out during the course of a day or week so that they can rest in recovery.

The Long Term Disability carrier will attempt to justify your Long Term Disability claim’s denial on the basis that your daily activities are the equivalent of full time work.

If the Long Term Disability carrier is questioning the restrictions and limitations of your disability and your activities of daily living you should immediately consult an experienced Long Term Disability claim’s denied lawyer such as Nancy Cavey.
